Seditious and anti-state comments: Case registered against Dr Mehring Baloch in Khairpur

The SHO took the stand in the FIR that Dr Mehring was inciting the Baloch people to civil war.

Sukkur: Dr Mehring Baloch, a human rights activist who led the protest against enforced disappearances, was booked on Friday for sedition and comments against the army.

Khairpur Wada Machion Police Station SHO Sarfraz Khoso on Friday filed an FIR against Dr Mehring Baloch under Section 124-A of the Pakistan Penal Code, which punishes those who try to spread hatred, insult or disobedience to the government.

The SHO alleged in the FIR that Dr Mehring Baloch incited people to civil war and constantly spoke against government institutions. He further said that Dr Mehring, like other anti-state elements, follows the anti-Pakistan agenda.
