On the third day's conclusion of the
third Test match, Australia gained a lead of 300 runs over Pakistan. Australia,
in their second innings, scored 84 runs for the loss of 2 wickets until the end
of the third day. Usman Khawaja made 34, and Steven Smith scored 43 runs before
being not out.
Third
Day Pak Vs Aus 1st Test:
In the second innings of the first Test
match of the series played at Perth Cricket Ground, Australia's first wicket
fell at zero runs. Khurram Shehzad's delivery led to the catch-out of David
Warner. The host team lost their second wicket at 5 runs. Labuschagne also got
out after scoring 2 runs on Khurram Shehzad's delivery.
At the start of the innings against
Australia on the previous day, the Pakistani team got out for 271 runs,
resulting in a deficit of 216 runs. Pakistan started the second innings with a
loss of 132 runs and 2 wickets. However, after adding 139 runs, all the players
of the national team were out.
From Pakistan's side, Imam-ul-Haq scored
62 runs before getting out, Abdullah Shafique made 42, Captain Shan Masood 30,
Khurram Shehzad 7, Babar Azam 21, Saud Shakeel 28, Sarfaraz Ahmed 3, Faheem
Ashraf 9, and Aamer Jamal 10 runs. Shaheen Afridi remained not out at 28 runs.
Shahin Afridi's attempt to put a check on
at the last wicket turned out to be expensive as he scored four runs before getting
caught out on Chris Head's delivery.
From the Australian side, Nathan Lyon
took 3 wickets, Mitchell Starc 2, Pat Cummins 2, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head,
and Mitchell Marsh took 1 wicket each.
It should be noted that Australia scored
487 runs in the first innings with Warner contributing 164 runs.
Second
Day Pak Vs Aus 1st Test:
Australia started the second innings with
a lead of 346 runs and lost 5 wickets for 141 runs. After adding 141 runs, the
Australian batters were all out. Alex Carey got out after scoring 34 runs,
Mitchell Starc 12, Captain Pat Cummins 9, Nathan Lyon 5 runs, and Mitchell
Marsh played an innings of 90 runs.
From Pakistan's side, Aamer Jamal took 6
wickets in the debut match, while Khurram Shehzad took 2, and Shahin Shah
Afridi and Faheem Ashraf took 1 wicket each.
Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq opened
the innings for the national team, establishing a cautious partnership against
the Kangaroos. However, after adding 74 runs, Shafique got out after scoring 42
runs, and Captain Shan Masood made 30 runs. At the end of the day, Pakistan
needed another 355 runs to overcome Australia's lead.
From Australia's side, Nathan Lyon and
Mitchell Starc took one wicket each.
First
Day Pak Vs Aus 1st Test:
On the first day, Australian captain Pat
Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. Opener David Warner displayed
aggressive play, partnering with Usman Khawaja to score 126 runs. However,
Khawaja lost his wicket after making 41 runs, and Marnus Labuschagne, Steve
Smith, and Travis Head contributed 16, 31, and 40 runs, respectively. Opener
David Warner scored 164 runs before falling victim to Aamer Jamal.
