Five wickets on debut; Aamer Jamal becomes the 14th Pakistani cricketer

In the Perth Test match, debutant Aamer Jamal impressed with his excellent bowling performance, taking the wickets of six Australian batters in the first innings. He dismissed David Warner, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Nathan Lyon.

Aamer Jamal's splendid bowling display led to Australia being bowled out for 487 runs in the first innings.

Before this, on the part of Pakistan, Arif Butt, Mohammad Nazir, Shahid Nazir, Mohammad Zahid, Mohammad Sami, Shabbir Ahmed, Yasir Arafat, Wahab Riaz, Tanvir Ahmed, Bilal Asif, Nauman Ali, Ibrar Ahmed, and Shahid Afridi had achieved the feat of taking five wickets on their debut.

It is noteworthy that during the Australia tour in 1964, Arif Butt was the last Pakistani player to accomplish this feat.
