On Saturday, the esteemed actor Shaukat
Zaidi passed away at the age of 72, succumbing to a prolonged illness. Reports
from the media suggest that Zaidi was undergoing treatment for kidney-related
issues at a private hospital in Lahore.
Beyond his distinguished acting career,
spanning various roles in numerous dramas, Zaidi left an indelible mark on
journalism from 1970 to 1998. His contributions extended to the realm of
theater, where he dedicated a decade to writing impactful dramas.
While showcasing his versatility in
numerous roles, Zaidi garnered significant acclaim for his portrayal of diverse
characters in the popular TV program “Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain.” Particularly
noteworthy was his depiction of a character representing the most economically
disadvantaged segment of society during the show.
