Manwar Rana, the famous Indian Urdu poet, died at the age of 71 in a private hospital in Lucknow after a long illness.

Sumaya Rana, Munur Rana's daughter, said her father was in critical condition and had been placed on a ventilator, but could not be revived and died on Sunday evening, and his funeral will be held today 

Manwar Rana was born on November 26, 1952 in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, but spent most of his life in Kolkata and West Bengal.

He suffered from chronic illnesses, including throat cancer, kidney failure, diabetes and high blood pressure.

He was admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow, India, on Thursday due to sudden health problems.

Before his death, Munur Rana's daughter Samia said in a video that her father's health was not good for the past few days and that he was suffering from severe abdominal pain during dialysis and when doctors performed a CT scan, they found something in his stomach and surgery was performed.

Note that Manwar Rana won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2014 for his poem “Shahadba” and his poem “Maan” is considered one of the famous poems.
