The 21st China International Software
Corporation Conference, held in Chengdu, China, showcased the growing software
partnership between China and Pakistan. The Cooperation Negotiation on
Standardization and Internationalization, a sub forum of the conference,
emphasized the pivotal role of this expanding alliance.
During the event, Muhammad Zohaib Khan,
Chairman of the Pakistan Software Association, delivered a comprehensive
overview of Pakistan's software industry, highlighting significant progress in
key areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), gaming, and
animation. Mr. Khan also emphasized the attractive incentives offered through
the Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA).
"Pakistani companies demonstrate
expertise in niche areas like Fintech, Healthcare, E-commerce, and other
solutions in high global demand. Collaboration between China and Pakistan can
extend beyond services, encompassing joint ventures and co-development initiatives,"
stated Mr. Khan, underscoring the impactful presence of Pakistani IT companies
in African markets, particularly in FinTech and Gulf Tech sectors.
Chinese companies were encouraged to
explore collaboration opportunities with Pakistani counterparts to tap into
these markets. Conversely, Pakistani firms were urged to seek partnerships with
Chinese counterparts to access advanced technologies and research and
development resources. The conference provided a platform for the Pakistan
Software Association to introduce and share contact information for 38
Pakistani software companies, showcasing their products, services, and specific
requirements.
In a collaborative spirit, Pakistani
companies expressed interest in areas such as the Internet of Things,
artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology cooperation. This exchange
of collaboration partner requirements aims to foster a dynamic ecosystem for
technological innovation.
The Chengdu Standardization Research
Institute, the forum's organizer, reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating
exchange and cooperation between China and Pakistan. In 2020, the institute
established the China-Pakistan Cooperation Center on Technical Standardization
in collaboration with Punjab University, Pakistan.
"In 2023, we successfully held the
China-Pakistan IT Product Market Access Training and Exchange Meeting and the
China-Pakistan Artificial Intelligence Enterprise Matchmaking Meeting. Looking
ahead, the center will continue to serve as a platform for exchange and
cooperation, fostering interoperability of standards and technologies between
the two countries," stated a representative of Chengdu Standardization
Research Institute.
As China and Pakistan advance in their
software cooperation, this collaboration holds immense promise for
technological advancements, mutual growth, and global innovation. The exchange
of expertise and resources between these two nations is poised to shape the
future landscape of the tech industry.
